Japan earthquake – Most complete summary of the Fire and Police damage statistics

This is probably the most detailed list of the Tsunami and Earthquake damage available outside Japan.
Click on one of the pictures or click on one of the options – Excel – Graphic

It puts together a summary of the two agencies (Fire and Police) damage statistics with additional information from other sources. It also includes local prefecture reports.
It currently contains FDMA Situation Reports 1 – 87, Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima Prefecture values, CATDAT data and the National Police report from 18:00PM Local Japanese Time (29-03) and previous days.

Every prefecture which has been damaged by the earthquake can be viewed in detail in this list.
If the location is not in the list, there will be probably NO damage, injured or fatalities.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 29/03 – 12:08 UTC : We are happy to tell our readers that we finally are witnessing a substantial DECREASE in alleged tsunami fatalities.
As predicted by earthquake-report, the missing statistics would climb a lot after adding Miyagi but would then probably dropping when more and more people listed as missed are detected alive.
Fatalities : 11,102 up from 10,901
Missing : 16,493 down from 17,649
Total assumed killed = 28,550 27,595

UPDATE 28/03 – 19:45 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 10,901 with an additional 17,649 missing.

UPDATE 27/03 – 08:45 UTC :
The death toll seems to have stabilized a little with the value of 10668 dead and 16574 missing being recorded. However, it must be noted that the missing count is likely to be increased once Miyagi prefecture adds their further missing.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected.

UPDATE 25/03 – 18:45 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 10,102 with an additional 17,053 missing. For the first time in a long time, the number of missing people decreased a little bit. Let us hope the numbers are stopping or even better decreasing here.

UPDATE 25/03 – 05:45 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 10,035 with an additional 17,443 missing. This is a total of nearly 27,500 people killed or missing.

UPDATE 24/03 – 09:45 UTC :

UPDATE 23/03 – 06:45 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 9,408 with an additional 14,716 missing.
This is a total of over 24,000 people killed or missing, the largest ever from an earthquake by nearly 4 times for a highly developed nation (as defined by the UNDP).

UPDATE 22/03 – 12:00 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 9,080 with an additional 13,561 missing.
The FDMA statistics are mirroring more and more the Police statistics. We are waiting for further updates from the cities and towns in Miyagi province as to building damage estimates, but have estimates of up to 85,000 additional destroyed or partially destroyed buildings in this prefecture, using shelter and individual city estimates.

UPDATE 22/03 – 09:00 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 9,079 with 12,782 missing.

UPDATE 21/03 – 13:00 UTC :
The police have listed a new death toll of 8,649 with 13,261 missing.
The FDMA statistics are mirroring more and more the Police statistics. The final death toll is far from sure as some coastal locations are far from complete.

UPDATE 20/03 – 08:02 UTC:
The police have listed a new death toll of 8,198 with 12,722 missing. Unfortunately, the missing and death tolls are still rising, meaning that the combined total of nearly 21,000 is likely to rise.

The main change from the file above, is that Miyagi now has 4443 deaths recorded.
